About

Bonnie is a fiction and nature writer based in the south east. Her work explores storytelling and the sea, women and water, nature, daughterhood and folklore. She writes to hold a new lens to the things we take for granted and to find the beauty in the small, ignored or underrepresented.

In 2022 she did a one week residency at Cove Park in Scotland. She also recently completed The Mawddach Residency for emerging artists and writers, where she worked with illustrator Catherine Lovett to create three short folk inspired stories rooted in the local estuary landscape. She continued this project with a residency at Brisons Veor in Cornwall in 2024.

She has written features for The Outdoor Swimming Society and had fiction and non-fiction published by Folkways Press, Echtrai Journal and Dear Damsels. She currently writes Wild Quiet Folk on Substack, a nature diary that offers an escape into the wild world around us, celebrating the curious, the quiet and the overlooked. It is a record of the changing seasons, of wild walks and wild swims, threaded through with folklore, feminism and an endless quest for learning.

She is currently working on a feminist gothic novel set beside a shifting, slithering estuary in north Wales.
